The fifth instance of our model Ava has seen the light of day.
After making three cedar top Avas and loving them, we wanted to make one with a spruce top, just like we did on the prototype . This one got flamed maple back, sides and neck and a neck joint at the 14th fret. Fretboard and Bridge, as well as the bindings, are made of rosewood.
The change in the woods are very audible, although we will have to make more versions to be precise about the influences. While the cedar models have an extraordinary deep bass and cautious mids, this Ava has much stronger mids without emphasizing them, while still having a broad spectrum of sound, which makes it great for solo lines. But it is still very soft, so it is also a great companion for your voice. We are amazed ourselves, how different one model can sound with different woods.
We are very happy with this Ava, that adds another color to the scheme. And again, this guitar is simple and pure and shows the beauty of the woods and its shape.
